The settlement resolves the drug maker’s alleged price increases at the end of a two-year period, a year in which AstraZeneca failed to meet certain criteria to pay the company for the drugs.
The drug company would receive $1.8 billion from the settlement, which was disclosed in the agreement.
The settlement includes a $1.5 million payment to the Aiken family for the Aiken family’s care and services.
The Aiken family is represented by attorney John M. Aiken of Los Angeles.
